A Remembered Dream

As part of her work with the PA Air National Guard, Nancy was visiting a coalition in Kensington, a Philadelphia neighborhood, which was known as the nation’s heroin capital. Her heart ached for the innocent people; they moved there because it was cheap and then found themselves caught up in drug addiction. She wished she could buy a block, rehabilitate housing and provide rental units which would be nice, clean, safe, and affordable for those who wanted to have better lives.

That was 2017 and the dream was forgotten until someone asked her in early 2021 what she would do if she had a million dollars. The dream was remembered and she shared it with her dad, Dave, who was building homes and rental units. Dave and Peggy, who have freely given their time, talents, and treasures to the Lord, jumped at the idea.

After two years of searching in three counties for a place to start the affordable housing initiative, Dave secured land in Fredericksburg, his hometown! A month later land came available on which Nancy would build. She never expected that she would want to live in the mountains, away from the busyness of Manheim, but the day she stood on that land with her now husband it all felt right. Nancy and Rob decided to get married, Nancy sold her house and they built a home to start their new lives together in Fredericksburg. Everything transpired in only 6 months from the time they first stood on the land! It all was the doing of a Divine God Who has a plan for everyone according to His purpose.

We serve an awesome God! He loves us unconditionally and blesses us for His glory. Our greatest desire is for everyone to know Him.
